JOB BLOCKING & MOVEMENTS

PROLOGUE:

  • Job enters stage right with Bible, laptop and cell phone (talking on phone)

  • Job clicks over to speak with Jacob @ end of narration intro

  • Wife enters stage left with bags - Job calls her to phone

  • Wife exits stage right with bags and phone

  • Job sings “Everything Must Change” (cue from narration)

    • Walks out stage right ending song

  • Go to Black


ACT 1: SCENE 1

  • God & Satan Dialog (2 mics backstage)

  • Phone rings (end of God/Satan dialog). Maid enters stage right to answer

  • Job responds backstage and enters on cue stage right

  • Maid exits stage right

  • Phone Voice 1 - followed by Phone Voice 2 (speaker phone) - Followed by Cell Phone ring

  • Job moves to sofa to answer cell phone

  • Phone Voice 3 

  • Wife enters stage right to Job on sofa

  • Doorbell (Maid opens door - Clergy enters)

  • Clergy moves with Maid to confront Job - Maid introduces him

  • Wife moves to loveseat - Maid follows

  • Job & clergy exit stage left

  • Intro selection: “God Provides”

  • Note: Job quick change into sick clothes/makeup

  • Wife exits stage right while ending song

  • GO TO BLACK (God & Satan Dialog)

ACT 1: SCENE 2

  • God & Satan Dialog (backstage - 2 mics)

ACT 1: SCENE 3

  • Job enters stage right on narrator cue with pillow, blanket, cell phone, handheld mic

  • Wife enters stage right with tray of meds

  • Intro selection: “Soul Is Anchored”

  • Wife exits stage right

  • Three friends enter from back - narrator cue

  • Doorbell rings - Wife answers door (stage left)

  • Three friends enter and move over to Job on sofa

  • 7 Days & Nights

  • Job breaks silence with dialog

  • Dialog continues between Job & Friends

  • Selection: I Need You Now 

  • Elihu speaks from table on floor and enters side of stage right

  • God speaks (Job answers twice)


EPILOGUE

  • Narrator

  • Finale: Selection: “I Love The Lord” 

    • Job sings 1st chorus

    • Wife enters stage left singing - 2nd chorus

    • Singers enter stage right singing - 2nd chorus

    • Friends stand and join in singing - 2nd chorus
